Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by!
This blog is something that I have been thinking on for about a year. I had made some posts, played around on the site, sat it to the side, told myself it was silly. But..it kept coming back to me. I just couldn't let it go!!
So as we celebrate the coming of a new decade I thought to myself, why wait another year to start something new?!
So, let's dive right into something some of us are looking forward to and others are dreading... NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
I always have mixed emotions about resolutions. Two thoughts cross my mind, "Am I setting myself up for failure?" or "Man, this is the year, look at me go! #thisgirlcan" There are always some resolutions that fall to the side, typically for me it's the one involving food. But, I have had several successes too! I try to pick things that will help me emotionally, spiritually, or physically. I also try to be realistic, I know how much extra time I have in my weekly schedule (and that's not very much) so I make the goal a challenge but still attainable. Everyone likes the feeling of success and hard work, so be realistic with yourself! I get specific, sometimes I think when we make goals we are to vague so in the end we don’t know how to attain it. For example, if your goal is to lose 15 pounds, don’t just write that down, go ahead and write down a plan for how to get there. Set yourself up for success!! Also pick the one that you feel is most important this year, the highest priority. That way even if others do fall to the side, you’ve achieved something you’ve really desired for yourself or family.
Each year Jarrod and I sit down, we talk about our goals, feelings, and perspectives for the year. What would we like to see happen in our lives, what are things we've done that have worked and that we enjoy. We also make individual lists things that may not apply to the both of us.
Here is a short list of some of my New Year's Resolutions!
Beth's New Year's Resolutions
Post once a month on my new blog
Develop & stick to an evening routine for keeping the house tidy (currently taking suggestions)
Do something outside once a week
Attempt a healthier eating plan (I hate the word diet and that's ok!!)
Work on creating time for quiet and self care
Develop a more peaceful mindset
Pay off financial debt
(I didn’t put my steps on how to attain these things because some of it is personal, but just know it’s in my journal!)
Have fun with it, think of some things that make you happy, that would help you day to day, think of things that may challenge you.
I hope this encouraged you to start some resolutions of your own this year. Comment below with a few of your New Year's resolutions!
Happy New Year!
